Call me Handy
*READ ME 1st* Chronicles of a pandemic Paramedic *READ ME 1st*
They call me Handy. I started my career in 2004 as a volunteer firefighter. In 2005 I was licensed as an EMT-Intermediate in the state of Georgia along with NPQ1 firefighter certification. In early 2008 I was licensed as a Paramedic and began the high volume EMS career with which I fell in love.
From 2020 until present I have experienced things that I never dreamed that I would experience. Seen things I never dreamed that I would witness. I watched an entire field of medicine change before my eyes. My goal is to share those experiences through a collection of emails and experiences over the course of the this so called “pandemic”. To read these emails in chronological order begin at the end of the list and work your way back to the top.
I do this at a risk to my career, but I hope that it helps others like me to find the courage to peek out of the shadows to tell the truth. Handy is not my real name. All names have been removed to protect privacy and avoid legal problems. I am still in the shadow of the beast, but I am trying to speak out in some capacity to shine the light on what has been done to all of us.
I am not looking to build a community, but to share my personal experiences. I will continue to share these experiences as long as God allows me to be in a position to see what is happening on the “front line”. The views and opinions I express here are my own, based upon what I have witnessed. I do not represent any company or other people. Walk with me as I share my perspective as a pandemic Paramedic.

The emails are a great read. I'll be working through them but again, on what I referenced: someone recently spoke about using CS Lewis' classic work as a template & it had to do with all the stuff that has been happening in our world today. The Screwtape Letters used the format of a junior baddie writing to the senior baddie to illustrate the spiritual warfare that goes on that is unseen.
I really thought perhaps you were the person who had said you were planning to do it with your experience with Covid. My mistake. Your style made me think of the book. I'll need to figure out who I heard speaking (or maybe I just heard my own thoughts in those highly-creative half asleep hours of the night).
Anyway, you'll provide a lot of insight for many as these emails get shared. Good for you. Well done.
Somewhere in the back of my mind, I feel like I heard you speak about writing The Screwtape Letters of the Pandemic. Honestly, since I often fall asleep listening to podcasts , I am questioning if I totally dreamed that. Someone at some time in recent days referenced modeling their writing on Lewis' classic.
I have so many lines I love from Lewis' work. The idea is delightful of someone using a template of his work to put the COVID charade into something that maybe the spell-bound public can grasp.
So , Handy, as I looked at the mass of posts that just appeared on my email , please tell me that you explained what you're doing and I'm not crazy in thinking what I'm thinking I heard.
Thank you regardless because what I have so far read was a delight & I want to share this with some people who can then share it further than I likely ever could. You're doing something that I have always intended to do but never got beyond the "a'fixen" stage of the project.
