EMS Update 04/14/2024
Email 04/14/2024
Mr ______,
The past 6 weeks or so have been fairly slow on the ambulance, but the ERs are still fairly busy. Unfortunately, we still see the occasional unexplained death. And we still see younger patients than what you would expect with medical problems not typically seen in the younger demographic. Heart problems, unexplained weakness, cancers (usually fairly advanced when found), hypertensive crisis, strokes, and on and on.
I mentioned my friend from the gym in the Rokfin chat. Thank you for reading that comment. I'd like to give you a little more information. My friend is approximately 50 years old and was in pretty good physical condition. We used to do jiu jitsu together. He was an avid outdoorsman and even did a 300-mile hike on the Appalachian trail in 2019. Today, he has extreme weakness and fatigue, unexplained excruciating pain in parts of his spine and in the joints of his jaw, and no apetite. He's lost 35 lbs in a fairly short amount of time. So far, he's been officially diagnosed with myocarditis and an enlarged heart. He's scheduled for more scans, blood work, and a spinal tap to look at his spinal fluid. But he was just set back with pneumonia and pulmonary edema this week. The doctors are perplexed. He was healthy. He took the jabs. Now he's not healthy at all. Far from it. From what I understand all of this began to snowball after a back injury. I'm not sure if the pulled back triggered something or not. Maybe it's completely unrelated.
Best wishes to you and your family,
-Handy

Thanks for the update! I recently looked thru the local obituaries, (and didn’t find who I was looking for) but was shocked to see so many in 40’s & 50’s (Eastern NC). Only one of those was extremely obese.
Sorry to hear about your friend, especially hard for someone so active. I’ve recently helped a bad spine injury, with grounding therapy tools. Specifically, grounding shoes, and a throw that I sleep on, as well as patches. All but the shoes, are plugged in to ground in outlet. Prior to wearing the shoes for 3-4 days, I was taking ibuprofen / excedrin daily. Now not taking anything.. Just FYI
