EMS Update December 2023
Email 12/18/2023
Mr ______,
The big elephant in the room is still excess death and disability. I have not personally seen any big changes in that trend in quite some time in this area.
I would like to share two interesting recent encounters...
The first was an elderly gentleman who fell. I couldn't help but notice the man's wife was wearing a disposable mask. She told us that her husband "has covid". What I found was an elderly gentleman, who wasn't in any obvious distress, but did take a blood thinner. Blood thinners require a little extra precaution, especially when trauma is involved. On the way to the hospital he reminded me that he has "covid". I said "You look like you're doing ok with it. Good! Now you'll have natural immunity." His reply, "I don't think there is a cure for covid. I've had every shot... every booster... and I keep getting it over and over again. They have me on Paxlovid now.".
The second was a gentleman in his 50's. I'm fairly certain his medical complaint was unrelated to the jab. What was interesting was his experience in 2020. He told me he was in a coma for approximately 2 months because of covid. I asked him to walk me through that experience. He told me that he was spending time with his son when he began feeling ill. What he described sounded like cold/flu symptoms to me. He said he took himself to the hospital ER where they took him back to a room and the next thing he knew he hears someone saying "call his son" as they stuck him with a needle. He says that was the last thing he remembers before waking up 2 months later on a ventilator with a tracheostomy. He said he had to learn to use his entire body again. He had to relearn how to talk, to eat, and to walk. That they told his son there was only a 2% chance he would come out of the coma. (The MEDICALLY INDUCED coma so you won't fight the vent). I asked him about his vaccine status. He took the first series, but no boosters.
Have a Merry Christmas. May God's blessings continue into the new year and beyond.
