Real Covid Test

Good morning _____,
Today I learned that the majority of the nursing homes in _____ ______ GA just got their first vaccine shot about a week ago. Tonight I picked up a 77 y/o male from one of those nursing homes that had collapsed on the floor in his room, gasping for air. Unfortunately I can't confirm if he was vaccinated, but the hospital let my supervisor know that he had been admitted to the ICU with a covid diagnosis (using the rapid test of course). So here is the REAL covid test. I ran this call just like we used to pre-covid... maskless. There is a chance this may be vaccine related. Even if it's not, what I saw looked identical to the flu when it ravages someone who is already in a weakened state. This patient was in poor condition to begin with, geriatric, on 13 different prescription medications (extensive history), and obese. This is my second one this week. The other one, also in poor initial health, didn't make it.
I remained in this patient's room doing my computer report and I noticed something I found interesting. They immediately ran a "covid" test on him, but never ran a flu test. Unfortunately this may trigger my employer to demand I get tested for covid. I refuse to play that game too, so we'll see where this takes me.
