See Something, Say Something
Email 11/25/2020
_____,
I wanted to pass along some an email we received from "the powers that be" where I work. I'm a paramedic in Atlanta Ga. We are being told we must wear a mask at ALL times. Even while we sit alone in our ambulance waiting on the next 911 call. They have also passed out an email address to tattle on one another if you see another employee without a mask. "See something, Say something" they say. Here is the coup de grace... they also installed cameras with microphones in the cab of the ambulances and told us they can remote view them at any time from the office.
Sadly, I doubt I'll make it to 17 years. I refuse to harm my health by having a filthy face diaper strapped to my face. As a side note, we've lost two EMT's to suicide during this LIE. None of us on the north end of Atlanta have seen a "presumed" covid patient that was any worse than a mild flu this entire time. If covid isn't the flu, it missed a damn good shot. We sure can't tell the difference by comparing symptoms.
Thanks for what you do.
-Handy

As the pandemic continues, COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths are rising again. In our own ___ community, cases of COVID-19-positive employees are spiking. We understand that like many people, you are COVID-fatigued, but we must remain vigilant. With a vaccine still weeks, probably months away, social distancing and wearing a mask are our only lines of defense. In our environment, the use of masks is the single best intervention to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
We have heard from many of you because you are not only concerned for your safety but the safety of your family. As a healthcare provider, we are the ones who set the tone and example. Effective immediately, masks are required for all ___ employees in all facilities, in all vehicles and aircraft and wear the appropriate PPE for all patient contact.
Critical Health and Safety Update
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, __ _____ MD, Chief Medical Officer, has an important update on our policies and procedures.
COVID-19 Update
Our teams are still serving on the frontlines of this pandemic. As of today, ___ has had 1,254 known COVID-positive employees and 8,358 total employees have been impacted since we began tracking in March. Let's keep our communities and each other safe #MaskUp___!
MaskUp ___
Wear procedure masks, or, for support employees in offices, cloth masks are acceptable and must be worn at all times while working for ___. Face shields, gators or bandanas are not acceptable as they do not provide the protection needed.
Wear your mask correctly, it must be worn completely over your nose and mouth.
The inconvenience of wearing a mask is far better than the devastation that accompanies an infection.
Also remember to clean all workspaces and vehicles between shifts as well as any shared spaces.
See Something. Say Something.
If you see one of your peers or leaders not wearing their mask, let them know, or let us know, send an email to MaskUp@___.net. Working together, we can help keep everyone safe!
